Regenerative biological resources on two wheels
In the NaWaRo bicycle project workshop, an interdisciplinary team of students at the TU-Berlin, the FH-Potsdam and other institutes in Berlin and Brandenburg, have set themselves the goal of researching alternative materials in the region, with the aim of developing a bicycle made up to 90% from materials of biological origin. The bicycle is being developed in cooperation with partners from industry and research, and a large proportion of the components are being produced in the region.
The ambition is to demonstrate that plants grown in central Europe can be used to produce long-lasting, high-quality products. This can stimulate new research and teaching in the field of practical applications for regenerative biological resources.
